The first step after setting up your website is to upload some files to it. This can be done 5 files at a time using the following form.
The system works with 3 different size files. The smallest is the thumbnails. These are shown when browsing the galleries. Next up is the preview size. These pictures should be big enough to see the detail, but are not full size. The largest size is the full size picture. These are password protected so that only registered clients may access them. Only the preview size is required, though the galleries look much better with thumbnails.
You can upload the three different files sizes yourself, or you can let the system do the resizing automatically. You can upload a preview image and let the system generate the thumbnail, or you can upload a fullsize image and let the system generate both the preview and the thumbnail.
When the pictures are displayed in the gallery, they are given a caption. When uploading the files, you are given the option to use the IPTC caption.
Here we've chosen to use all the automatic and default settings, so thumbnails and previews will be generated for each file and the captioning will be done too.
We press the button at the bottom of the form and are taken to Step 2.
