Editing Your Passwords

In order to view the full sized images, your users will need a password. These can be set up from the Edit Your Password File link from the Admin Menu. This screen has three sections. The first allows you to delete an existing user. The second allows you to modify an existing user and the third allows you to create a new user.

From this screen you can also modify the password of the “admin” user, though you cannot delete it for obvious reasons. Your admin password was set when you purchased the software, but you may want to change it to something more memorable, though most web browsers allow you to remember passwords anyway. However, it is advisable to choose something that cannot be easily guessed. English words are a bad idea. Try to combine them with numbers to create something more obscure.

All passwords must be at least 6 characters long and all usernames must be at least 2 characters.

WARNING: Some ISPs provide a web interface to allow you to password protect directories. Using these tools will almost certainly break Pixwire's password protection. See the section on rewriting your .htaccess file for more details.
